37th President.
Typed letter signed “Dick”, personal letterhead from New York City, June 26, 1985, to his younger brother Edward Nixon, salutation in Nixon’s hand “Dear Ed”, in full:
This is just a note to tell you that I had a very good meeting with Chairman Wang yesterday. At the conclusion of our talk I mentioned the fact that you were very interested in trade between the PRC and the United States and he told me that he was looking forward to seeing you in Hong Kong.
I hope your plans work out so that you can get together with him because he is highly intelligent and, as you know, one of the top economic powerhouses of the PRC.
Mailing folds, else very fine.
Accompanied by original, non-postally used, envelope.
Edward Nixon was the younger of the five Nixon brothers and 17 years younger than his famous brother. He served in the Navy as a pilot and helicopter flight instructor. He later became an expert and consultant on global energy matters as president of Nixon World Enterprises. He frequently traveled to China on business.
An interesting association letter as Nixon’s greatest foreign policy achievement was building stronger US-China relations.
