36th President. Typed letter signed “L.B.J.” on personal stationery from Austin, Texas, April 1, 1970 to his former White House barber Steve Martini and his wife, in full:
It surely is a convenience that even men are wearing longer hair these days because my ‘trims’ are getting farther and farther between now that I don’t have you with me.
Thank you for all the good wishes for my health and for the happiness of my family at Easter. I am much better now, and send my best to both of you. We will miss you.
Accompanied by original mailing envelope.
Minor handling wear at left side, mailing fold, else very fine.
