Accompanied by original mailing envelope addressed in Taft’s hand to “Ensign William Alex Sutherland” at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland (tear from top to bottom of envelope).

Great content Taft letter. “Ensign Sutherland” most likely with some relation to Taft’s fellow Supreme Court Justice George Sutherland.
