Lyndon B. Johnson & Lady Bird Johnson Photo Signed - To Vice President Hubert Humphrey and His Wife

36th President. Impressive White House photograph of the Johnson family celebrating the wedding of their daughter, Luci, on August 6, 1966. The photo is approximately 6.25x9.5 and is matted in blue and gold and to 10.75x13.75 overall.

The photo is inscribed by Lady Bird Johnson on the mat: “To Hubert and Muriel – on a happy day – with our warm affection – Lady Bird and “ and signed by the President: “Lyndon B. Johnson”. Lady Bird also adds “Christmas 1966” in her hand.

On August 6, 1966, Luci Baines Johnson, the daughter of Presiden Lyndon B. Johnson, married Patrick John Nugent. The wedding took place at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., in front of 700 guests and a large television audience. Johnson and Nugent went on to have four children, but the marriage was annulled in 1979.

President Johnson and Lady Bird presented a small amount of signed photos to senior White House staff as their Christmas gift for 1966 - with this one being presented to the Vice President and his wife. Fantastic association item.
