My dear Webster,

Judge Minot was here Saturday -- Your letter inclosing the bills in the Merchants Bank was duly received. Have you received your offices yet? When do you expect to visit Concord -- If the Whiton Estate shall be struck off to me I shall probably be at Concord Thursday and perhaps Friday. If you conclude to take Union [horse] to Boston the time for you to enjoy the saddle will be between this and the middle of Sept. After that time if you do not incline to drive him in harness he had better be sent back to the country again for the winter. You have of course seen our friends Colo. & Mrs. Howe -- I have written to him this morning and shall enjoy seeing them very much[.]

In haste

Yr friend

Franklin Pierce
