In February 1943, motion picture theaters organized a drive to raise funds for the March of Dimes. On his birthday (January 30) in 1944, Roosevelt signed lithographs such as this one in order to thank those whose work helped make the drive successful.

Carter Barron was a college football player and a motion picture executive. He was a personal friend to Presidents Roosevelt and Truman.
