Herbert Hoover 1956 Typed Letter Signed – “Getting Me On The Same Platform With Truman”

Out of stock

31st President.

Typed letter signed “H.H.” 7.25×10.5, personal stationery but sent from The Waldorf Astoria Towers, New York City, April 13, 1956. To Paul C. Smith, the former editor of the San Francisco Chronicle and longtime Hoover associate, in full:

Many thanks for your comment on the Overseas Press Club occasion.

That group of Public Relations men, and about two dozen others, conceived the bright idea of producing a sensation by getting me on the same platform with Truman.

I am old enough to avoid such cheap traps.

Fine condition, mailing folds.

Accompanied by carbon copy of Smith’s letter to the President of the Overseas Press Club where he rails against Truman.
