37th President.  Typed letter signed (TLS) “Dick”, one page, 7×10.25, personal letterhead from New York, June 29, 1964, in full:

As you have probably noted in the papers, I have been travelling most of the time since receiving your note of May 18th.

It was most thoughtful of you to send me the Imperial Hotel Journal.  I had not seen a copy of the booklet with the picture, and I am pleased to have it for my scrapbook of the trip.

It is too bad we didn’t arrive in Tokyo at the same time!

In fine condition, mailing folds.

On April 11, 1964, Nixon visited Hiroshima’s Peace Memorial Park.  In 1984, former President Jimmy Carter would visit.  Barack Obama would become the first sitting President to visit the park in 2016.
