American patriot (1736–1799) best remembered for his stirring, historic declaration, “Give me liberty or give me death.”

Partly-printed document signed (DS) “P. Henry” AS GOVERNOR of Virginia, August 16, 1785, 14.75×18, granting 2,437 acres in Fayette County [KY] to Robert Gunnell assignee of Alexander Moss.

Reinforced at folds, holes at fold intersections and edges with some loss to text, chipping and toning to upper and lower edges, docketing verso, paper seal mostly intact.  Document shows some wear but the signature remains dark, bold and unaffected.
