It certainly was kind and thoughtful of you to send me the shirt for evening wear along with the studs to keep it buttoned – just what I need.

I hope you have everything you want for Christmas and the most prosperous year for 1948 you have ever had.

Geist was active in politics during the Truman and Eisenhower Administrations.  He was known for his philanthropic and humanitarian activities.  Truman awarded him the US Medal of Honor, in 1947, for his work in the rehabilitation of disabled Word War II veterans.
