32nd President. Bank check drawn from the “Guaranty Trust Company of New York”, March 5, 1945, 6.5×2.5, filled out in another hand and signed “Franklin D. Roosevelt” AS PRESIDENT in expected feeble hand as he died just 6 weeks later. The check is made out to the “Tail-Waggers Club, D.C.” for $1 and represented the membership dues for his beloved dog, Fala. The check is uncancelled.
A very late-in-life autograph with a fantastic association.
There is a thin line of adhesive at top on back, from previous mounting, light central vertical fold, else near perfect.
