34th President. Typed letter signed (TLS) “Ike E.“, June 20, 1961, personal DDE Gettysburg Pennsylvania stationery, 7×10.5, to his old friend, Clarence J. Schoo in Springfield, Massachusetts, in full:

Some time when we are all at Augusta, the four of us will have to have our own private celebration of your fiftieth wedding anniversary.  We are delighted that the party in New York was such a success (and, incidentally, well remember what a wonderful time we had at your fortieth anniversary party).

I hope the message I sent to you on behalf and Mamie and myself arrived in due course at the Park Lane.  I am finding, to me sorry, that communications between Gettysburg and the outside world are not always exactly rapid.

The original mailing envelope with printed free frank signature is included and stapled at top left.

In fine condition, mailing folds.
