Description

Amazing blue New York Mets hat game worn by DANIEL MURPHY during the 2015 season, specifically during the New York Mets National League East clinching game and World Series Game 1.  The size 7 cap features “NY” in orange and silver on front, with the number “28” handwritten inside as well as the words “Salt” and “Light” personally written by Murphy.  The 2015 World Series patch is on the left side.

Recently, Murphy has emphatically turned to Christianity.  He started reading the Bible daily, taking notes as he went, and bringing it to the ballpark. He also started writing the words “salt” and “light” in his baseball cap, a reference from the Gospel of Matthew.

This hat was worn by Murphy on September 26, 2015 when the Mets defeated the Cincinnati Reds to clinch the National League East title and move on to the playoffs.  The hat was later adorned with the World Series patch and it was worn in Game 1 of the 2015 World Series.  Authenticated by Major League Baseball with hologram JB 098128 which attests to its complete game use.

Murphy had one of the greatest postseason performances in Major League history.  He hit HOME RUNS in 6 consecutive games and was named the MVP of the NLCS.  This hat shows good game use and is a truly special NY Mets collectible.

Hologram number JB098128 was located in the MLB Authentication Database under GAME-USED CAP.
