1928 Babe Ruth, Gene Tunney & Bill Tilden Signed Seating List. A highly appropriate event for the three pencil signatures (“Babe Ruth”, “Wm. T. Tilden 2nd”, “Gene Tunney”) located hereupon, this seating list for the World’s Champions Dinner is signed by three of the greatest world champions of the era. The dinner, presented by the Madison Square Garden Club, was held on January 4, 1928 at the Hotel Commodore in New York. “The Babe” was just coming off his 1927 Yankees World Series title with the New York Yankees, having hit .356 with 164 RBI and of course this was also his famous sixty home-run season. William “Bill” Tilden had already won seventeen various tournaments ranging from Wimbledon to the Davis Cup before this dinner and certainly earned his place on the cover. Meanwhile, Gene Tunney was reigning World Heavyweight Champion in both 1926-1927, and would repeat again in 1928.

The cover has separated from the booklet but would be perfect to mat and frame, or encapsulate, on its own. One vertical crease and a stain at the bottom, but the autographs rank in at a strong 8.5/10. Full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.

An amazing assemblage of the greatest athletes of the era attended the dinner. The dais table included the likes of Babe Ruth, Bobby Jones, Walter Camp, Bill Tilden, John Weismuller, Gene Tunney and George Rickard.
