Cal Ripken, Jr. has become more than just a great baseball player; he is now a baseball legend. Ripken compiled 3,184 hits, 431 home runs, and broke Lou Gehrig’s career record for the most consecutive games played, 2,131, in MLB history. The Baltimore Orioles’ “Ironman” ended his own amazing streak at 2,632, taking himself out of a game in the fifth inning versus the New York Yankees. He entered the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007, his first year of eligibility.
