The United States Attorney General from 1961 to 1964 and a US Senator from New York from 1965 until his assassination in 1968. He was one of U.S. President John F. Kennedy’s younger brothers, and also one of his most trusted advisers and worked closely with the President during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He also made a significant contribution to the African-American Civil Rights Movement.
Handsome matte-finish 8×10 bust-length portrait of Kennedy with arms crossed, paper is 11×14 overall, certainly as the United States Attorney General, signed and inscribed in the lower border in black ink, “For Alvin Grossman, With Best Wishes, Robert F. Kennedy.”
Alvin Grossman was a U.S. Marshal from the Western District of New York tasked with protecting RFK.
In good condition, creasing (mostly at right side) and a 3″ abrasion mostly in lower border away from signature.
