32nd President. Photograph signed and inscribed, to John Mulholland, by both FDR and Garner as President and VP. The half-length portrait, 8.5×9.75, shows both men in hats and overcoats while shaking hands. It is signed “For John Mulholland from Franklin D. Roosevelt” and additionally signed and inscribed “To John Mulholland with the fond hope that I may never contribute to his downfall as a ‘gentleman’ Jno. N. Garner”.

Mounted to a slightly larger board, horizontal creases at middle with little impact, moderate even cracking to emulsion overall.

The first dual signed FDR / Garner photo we have handled.

Based on research via the Franklin D. Roosevelt Library, this image was taken on May 22, 1937 and the hat Garner is wearing was presented to him by the National Press Club at the annual baseball game between the Press and Congress.
