** TLS DURING FDR’S FAMOUS FIRST 100 DAYS IN OFFICE – 24 DAYS IN OFFICE! **
32nd President. Typed letter signed (TLS) “Franklin D. Roosevelt” AS PRESIDENT, one page, 7×9, The White House Washington letterhead, March 28, 1933, to Congresswoman Effiegene Wingo, in full:
Thank you for your very nice letter. I have not taken up any of these questions but will do so after the present rush is over.
I am happy to know that you are willing to serve.
Wingo had served as a Representative from Arkansas from November 4, 1930 through March 3, 1933. Although FDR addressed this letter to her at the House of Representatives, she had just recently vacated the job. One of the earliest FDR White House letters we have ever handled.
Mailing fold, handling wear, one spot of small staining within text.
