34th President. Typed letter signed (TLS) “Dwight D.”, one page, 7×9, The White House Washington stationery, March 7, 1958, to Frank D. Parent in Inglewood, California, in full:
Your letter of the fourth is a fine tonic. It contains the optimism for our country’s future that I feel is justified and is, I might add, greatly refreshing in view of some of the comments — especially in the newspapers — on the Eastern seaboard.
From time to time I have news of you; I think the latest to tell me he had met you was the Secretary of the Interior, Frank Seaton.
Again my thanks for your note.
In very good condition, mailing fold, light toning at edges from previous matting.
Frank D. Parent was a Los Angeles County municipal court judge between 1930 and 1958. He coached President Dwight D.
