30th President. Autograph letter signed (ALS) “Calvin Coolidge”, January 11, 1930, decorative “The Vinoy Park Hotel / St. Petersburg, Florida” stationery, to Clement Kennedy, who is listed as the Managing Director in the letterhead, in full:
Please accept my thanks for all the wonderful care you have taken of us. We shall always remember it and hope to come back when we can stay longer.
Col. Clement Kennedy was the proprietor of the New Ocean House hotel in Swampscott, Massachusetts, among other resorts. It served as the summer White House for President and Mrs. Calvin Coolidge. In 1941, it would be the temporary White House while President Franklin D. Roosevelt was at the historic Atlantic Conference.
