Influential American writer (1900-1938) known for his poetic autobiographical fiction, best remembered for the 1929 novel Look Homeward, Angel. His life was cut short after he contracted pneumonia during a tour of the West.
Chase National Bank of New York check, 6.5 x 2.75, filled out by Wolfe and signed “Thomas Wolfe”, payable to Gwen Jassinoff for $17.20, May 7, 1938. In the lower left, Wolfe adds: “Payment in full secretarial services to date”.
Presented simply matted and framed with a typed description.
In fine condition. Wolfe’s autograph is decidedly scarce in any form as he died just 18 days short of his 38th birthday.
