Bill Clinton Typed Letter Signed as Arkansas Governor - May 5, 1980
42nd President. Lengthy typed letter signed (TLS) "Bill" as Governor of Arkansas, 8.5x11, May 5, 1980, written to Arkansas politician Bobby Tullis on "State of Arkansas Office of the Governor" stationery, with Clinton crossing out salutation and handwriting "Bobby", in full:
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your help and support during the just completed Second Extraordinary Session of the Arkansas General Assembly. Your attention and willingness to move with dispatch allowed the Session to be completed expeditiously so that we might all return to our regular duties and responsibilities.
I believe several major objectives were achieved. Without your help, we could not have accomplished the important goal of reversing the effects of the Public Service Commission's utility assessment decision which adversely affected our public schools, and would have, without your action, had an even more severe impact in years to come.
We also moved to help protect the utility ratepayers of our state with major legislation establishing time deadlines for PSC decisions in rate cases.
We have helped preserve a major natural area in South Arkansas for migratory waterfowl. This may, in the long term, be as important as the acquisition of the Hobbs Estate.
Additionally, your action on housing bonds, school bonds, and other issues has, I believe, helped to preserve the economic security of our people while continuing the progress we have made in advancing and improving the quality of life for all our people. For your help and support, I am very grateful.
Accompanied by photo of Clinton and Tullis from the same time period this letter was sent. Fresh to market - in fine condition, mailing folds.
